Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Rhome Funeral Home Inc., 1209 Grand Blvd. Monessen, where friends will be welcomed on Sunday from 1-3 and 6-8.  Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Monday at 11 am.

Interment will follow in the Grandview Cemetery of Monessen

Obituary:

Alan D.  Soderholm, 82  of Monessen, passed away on Thursday March 5, 2020 in his residenceHe was born  in Monessen, March 18, 1937, a son of the late  Gus   and Auni Maki Soderholm .Alan was Lutheran by faith and had graduated Monessen High School.  Upon graduation, he had served his country in the United States Army.  Alan had enjoyed Walking, Bicycling, Travel, and his Dogs.He had been   a Steelworker  for Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel prior to his retirement.Surviving are   Nephew and nieces-, Carl and wife Lisa Soderholm,  Kimberly Soderholm, , Linda and Chris Farner, and Diane Furlong and Robert Campbell.  Several Great Nieces  and Great Nephews, and  Kathy  Anderson whom was like a daughter to him.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by- Sister, Mildred Soderholm, Brother, Carl Soderholm, Nephew, Gus "Ricky" Soderholm, and a Niece, Lisa Soderholm. Also, his companion of many years- Betty Anderson.
