Viewing: Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Rhome Funeral Home Inc., family owned and operated as a member of the Golden Rule, 1209 Grand Blvd. Monessen where friends will be welcomed from 2-4 and 6-8, Thursday, January 2.
Service: Services will be held at St. Pauls Lutheran Church of Monessen on Friday, January 3, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Jack Hernstrom officiating.
Obituary:
Alma L. Stewart, 97 of Monessen, passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2013 in Jefferson Hills Manor.
She was born November 11, 1916 in Monessen,a daughter of the late George and Rose Diederich Shorraw.
She was a member of the former St. Luke's Lutheran Church of Monessen and presently a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Monessen. Alma was the former Owner/Operator of the Grand Hotel in Monessen. She loved to crochet, and was very artistic.
Alma had been a beautician in Monessen for over 67 years.
Surviving are her sisters- Eleanor Levinsky, Alvalon and husband Chuck Dunkerton, and Norma Lee and husband Darrell Foat. Nieces and nephews -John and wife Wanda Pierce, -Judy Shwallow, Joe and wife Kaity Shwallow, John and wife Brenda Pierce, Tom and wife Karen Shorraw, Matthew Shorraw, Joe Shwallow Jr., and Nicholas Shorraw.
She was preceded in death by her husbands-Bill Cane and Bill Stewart and Sisters- Ruth DiGiacomo and June Shorraw and Brothers- Earl, George, Joseph, and Richard Shorraw. Sister in law- Irene Shorraw.
