Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Rhome Funeral Home Inc., 1209 Grand Blvd. Monessen, where friends will be welcomed on Wednesday from 1-3 and 6-8 pm.  A Trisagion Service will be held in the funeral home at 7:30 Wednesday evening.  Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10:00 am at St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Church of Monessen with Fr. Meletios Gianniodis officiating.  

Burial will follow in the Grandview Cemetery of Monessen. 

 

 

Anthony  Argirakis, 83  of Monessen, passed away on Sunday, September 19,2021.  He was born in Monessen on July 29, 1938, a son of the late Constantine "Gus" and Mary Loulis Argirakis.  Anthony was a member of St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Church of Monessen.  He was also a Life Member of the Monessen BPOE Elks #773.  He served in the United State Marine Corp and was honorably discharged in 1962.  He worked as a Brakeman  for Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corporation prior to his retirement.  Anthony was an avid fan of Pittsburgh Sports, Steelers, Penguins, Panthers, and Pirates. Surviving are his  Sons, Anthony and wife Dawn Argirakis, of Rostraver Twp., a surviving brother- John Argirakis,  Brett and wife Kelly Argirakis, of Nazareth PA.,  daughter, Laura and husband Mark Karpiak of Charleroi.  Grandchildren,  Anthony J. Argirakis and wife Kelly, Carlie Argirakis, Alexis Argirakis, Brittney Argirakis and fianc'e Vincent Marino, Abbie Argirakis, and Kaleigh and Derek Karpiak.  Two great grandchildren, Rocco and Adia Argirakis.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine Suppa Argirakis, and two brothers, Victor and Mike Argirakis.
