Obituary:
Anthony Chiaravalle, who celebrated his 80th birthday in November died on December 29, 2016 at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on November 13, 1936, in Monessen, Pennsylvania, a son of the late Tony and Frances (Mauro) Chiaravalle. He was a proud Veteran and served his country with service in the National Guard, Navy, Army, and finally the Air Force from which he retired, giving 27 years of combined service. While serving his country he was stationed in Virginia, Massachusetts, Germany, Wisconsin, Thailand, Arizona, Italy, South Carolina, Alaska, Aleutian Island and Maryland.
Tony was proud of his family, Italian heritage, growing a bountiful vegetable garden. He enjoyed crabbing with his children and grandchildren, taking walks, especially with his dog Rascal, visiting casinos and horse races, watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy, and debating politics. Tony had a very full and happy life; he always had a story to tell, which everyone enjoyed.
Tony was preceded in death by his brother, Bernie and is survived by his wife, Narcisa and loving companion, Rascal. His three daughters Toni, Theresa and Tanya; five grandchildren, Tim, Shelby, Victoria, Martin and Joshua; two brothers, Joe and Ron, sister, Emily, an Aunt Virginia Quattro, many nieces and nephews. All loved Tony without end and will miss him greatly.
Some called him Dad, some Brother or Son, some called him Tony or Uncle Tony, and some called him Master Sergeant. He was always the first to offer his help and to be there for those in need. We do not have to tell those of you who knew him, the title that fit him the best was friend.
