Chalmer M. Thompson, 73 , formerly of Monessen, passed away on Wednesday July 12, 2023 in Forbes Regional Hospital of Monroeville.He was born  in New Eagle, January 25, 1950, a son of the late John C. and Louise V. Troth ThompsonChalmer graduated Monessen High School, and had attended classes at Westmoreland County Community College, Robert Morris University, and Duff's Institute. Chalmer was Presbyterian by faith and had been active with the Boy Scouts of America.  He had served his country in the U.S. Navy.  He enjoyed coin and currency collection, and was an avid Beatles fan, and loved music.  He was a devoted father to his two sons- Deon Thompson, whom precedes him in death, and Aaron and wife Hannah Thompson.He adored his grandchildren- Aiden, Carson, and Luca Thompson.In addition to his parents and son, he was preceded in death by a sister- Darlene Thompson Gula.
