Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Rhome Funeral Home Inc., 1209 Grand Blvd. Monessen, where freinds will be welcomed on Monday July 13, 2020 from 1-3 and 6-8 pm.  Funeral services will be held on Tuesday Jul14, with a Panachida Service in the funeral home at 10:30 am followed by Divine Liturgy at 11:00 am at St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church of Monessen with Fr. Stephen Wahal officiating.  Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery of Rostraver Twp. The funeral home, as well as the Kernisky family, are concerned with everyone's safety and well being.  We kindly ask that social distancing be practiced, masks be worn, and to please be patient and understanding if you may have to momentarily wait to enter the funeral home.  Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Obituary:

Dolores  Vernet  Kernisky, 90 , of Monessen, passed away on July 10, 2020 in UPMC Mercy Hospital of Pittsburgh.She was born  in Monessen, a daughter of  the late Harry  and Mary Cenkner Vernet.Dolores was a  member of St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church of Monessen, and the Church's Ladies Guild.  Dolores was a person of great faith evidenced by the life that she led.  Only three things were of true value to her, Faith, Family, and Friends.  Her gentle spirit radiated love and kindness to all and her quiet strength was a testament to her faith.  She had supported many charities with Mount Saint Macrina holding special importance.Surviving are   Daughter, Mary Kay Kelly, Son, Fred and wife Mary Jane Kernisky, Ed and wife Rita Kernisky, Grandchildren-Fred, Maria and husband Tim Campbell, and  Eddie , surviving great grandchildren Nina and NolanBeloved Nieces  and Nephews.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband- Fred Kernisky and her  Brothers, Harry Vernet, and Joseph  Vernet.
