RIZZUTO SR., Frank J. (Bucky), 84 years of Monessen, died Thursday, September 26, 2024, at his residence. Born on April 16, 1940, to the late Frank M. and Leda (Deberadinis) Rizzuto, Frank was a 1957 graduate of Monessen High School and an Army National Guard veteran.
At the age of 18, Frank started his first job at Edmund’s Jewelers in Monessen. In 1963, Frank became owner/operator of Rizzuto’s Jewelry and Music in Monessen and in 1971, opened a second location in Donora, PA. In 1985, Frank consolidated his businesses and moved Rizzuto’s Jewelers to 517 Fallowfield Ave, Charleroi, PA where he spent the next 21 years offering quality goods and service to his clients from the Mon Valley and beyond.
Upon his retirement, one of Frank’s greatest pleasures was spending time with his beloved grandchildren. He enjoyed attending their many activities, sharing stories about his childhood, and never missed a chance to proudly sing their praises.
A resolute and active member in his community, Frank was constantly on the go. He served as Monessen City Treasurer for 28 years and was a long-time member of the Monessen Lions Club, Monessen Elks, the Italian Society of Mutual Aid (Monessen), and Thomas McKee Post 28 of The American Legion in Monessen. He was also a past president of the Monessen Chamber of Commerce.
In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his brother, Foster Rizzuto of Blairsville, PA. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 59 years, Nancy Stura Rizzuto, son, Frank J. Jr. (Rebecca) Rizzuto of Monessen, daughter, Dana Jo (Dave) Bergstedt of Rostraver Twp.; grandchildren, Bella N. Rizzuto, Victoria E. Bergstedt, and David H.
