Viewing: Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Rhome Funeral Home Inc., family owned and operated as a member of the Golden Rule, 1209 Grand Blvd. Monessen where friends will be welcomed from 6-8, Monday, August 19 and 1-3 and 6-8 on Tuesday, August 20th.
Service: A Blessing Service will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. followed by Services at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church of Monessen, with Fr. Stephen Wahal officiating.
Interment: Interment will follow in the St. Mary's Cemetery, Rostraver Twp.
A Parish Rosary will be said on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. followed by Panachida Services in the funeral home.
Obituary:
Irene W. Shorraw, 90, of Monessen, passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2013 in Rolling Meadows Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Waynsburg.
She was born February 15, 1923 in Monessen, a Daughter of the late Michael and Mary Hrenko Sivak.
She was a member of St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church of Monessen and the Churchs' Rosary Society.
She had worked as a Clerk for American Chain and Cable Co., Pages Division, Corning, and the A&P Market.
Surviving are her son-Thomas E. and wife Karen Shorraw of Bobtown, PA, Grandsons-Matthew and Nicholas, Step Grandchildren- Matthew, Nicole, Donald and Seth, and Step Great Grandchildren- Grace and Keith. Also, Several Nieces and Nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Shorraw and a Grandson- Michael Shorraw. Brothers- John, Michael, George, and Oliver Sivak. And a Sister- Marie Mizerik.
