Viewing/Services: Friends will be received Sunday, October 16, from 2-4 & 6-9pm in the Rhome Funeral Home, Inc.1209 Grand Blvd. Monessen,
Services will be held at the True Vine Anglican Church, Black Diamond, Monday, October 17, 2016 at 11 am with Retired Rector Fr. John Fierro officiating.
Interment will follow in the Monongahela Cemetery.
Contributions may be made to the Multiple Myeloma Foundation or to the True Vine Anglican Church in Jim's memory.
Obituary:
James D. Anderson, 68 years old of Monessen, passed away Thursday, October 13, 2016 in Monongahela Valley Hospital.
He was born January 28, 1948 in Charleroi, son of the lat Holmes M. and Mabel Cady Anderson.
Jim was a 1965 graduate of Monessen High School, where he played baseball and was a member of the track team and a 1970 graduate of California State College. He taught Industrial Arts at Riverside High school, was on the board of directors and past president of the Mon Valley Community Health Services, board member and past president of the Actors and Artists of Fayette County, technical director/set designer of Belle Vernon Area spring musical for ten years, founding member and part owner of the Mon Valley Actors and Artists, where he fulfilled his dream of giving youths exposure to the performing arts, part owner of the Little Falls Boat Club in
West Virginia, An avid WVU fan, and a member of the True Vine Anglican Church, Black Diamond, which he reconstructed a building into a church, after retirement, and he also belonged to other clubs and organizations.
Survivors include his wife Debi Morley Anderson, with whom he recently celebrated twenty five years of marriage, children; Laura (Robert) Peckyno of New Zealand, James (Leah) Anderson of Topeka KS, Brian (Carrie) Anderson of Belle Vernon, Jennifer "Queenie" Anderson of Belle Vernon, grandchildren, Caitlynn "Munchkin" and Zachary Anderson, a sister Joyce (Donald) Kissler of Belle Vernon beloved dog Amy, and numerous nieces and nephews who he thought of more like children. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Robert M. Anderson, and an infant brother, and a brother in law David Morley.
