Service: Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Friday April 24, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. David Patrick officiating
Obituary:
James D. "Tex" Yates, 80 , of Monessen,passed away Monday, April 20, 2015 in his residence. He was born January 15, 1935 in Overall VA, a son of the late Frank N. and Sarah Restivo Yates. He was a member of Monessen Eagles, Italian Club, and the former PNA #1146, the Hungarian and Russian Clubs of Pricedale, the Naomi Club, and the Belle Vernon American Legion.
"Tex" was a Coal Miner prior to his retirement. "Tex" was an Army veteran having served as a Jump Master and Paratrooper Instructor with the 82nd Airborne Division.
Surviving are his wife, Nancy Kinik Yates , Daughter- Terri Ann and husband Vern Campbell, Son- Tad and wife Danyelle Yates, Grandchildren- Brian, Elyzbeth, Carlyn, and Tad Jr. Yates, Step children- Bob and Lisa Kinik, Daneen and Todd Watson, Kevin Kinik, Desiree and Chris Christner, and Raenell Druciak and their children. A brother-Nelson Yates, brother in law- Tim Gay, and Several Nieces and Nephews. He was preceded in death by First Wife-Martha Lusk Yates and a Brother-John "Bob" Yates.
