Viewing: Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Rhome Funeral Home Inc., 1209 Grand Blvd. Monessen, where friends will be welcomed from 1-3 and 6-8, Friday, April 28. Trisagion service will be held in the funeral home at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
Services: Trisagion service will be held in the funeral home at
7:30 p.m. Friday. Additional visitation will be held at St. Spyridon Greek Othodox Church on Saturday from 9:30 am to 10:30 am, the time of service.
Interment will follow in the Belle Vernon Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the Apodiakos Family requests that memorial
contributions be made to St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Church in Mr. Apodiakos' name.
Obituary:
John Apodiakos, 90, of Monessen, PA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 surrounded by his family. in Mon Valley Care Center.
He was born January 28, 1927 in Monessen, a son of the late George and Mary Mermigas Apodiakos. He was a member of St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Church of Monessen, AARP, and American Legion Post #28 of Monessen. John enjoyed spending time with his
family. He served in the Army Airforce during World War II. He had been a Youth Baseball Coach, and was an avid Bowler and fan
of the Chicago Bears. John had also worked with the St. Spyridon Aux. He worked as a Steelworker for Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, prior to his retirement.
Surviving are his wife, Roanne Loukas Apodiakos, his son-Michael and wife Vicki Apodiakos of Washington, PA, Daughter-Maria and husband Chad Feher of Monessen, Grandchildren-Helene Apodiakos, Kady Apodiakos and fiance' David Landman, Eric and wife Natalie Apodiakos, Chase, John, and Loukas Feher. Great grandchildren- Bryan and Tyler Clark and Dash Apodiakos. Sister- Kay
Alatsis, and Sister In Law-Kalliopi Apodiakos. Several Nieces and Nephews.
He was preceded in death by Son- George Apodiakos. Brothers- Theodore and William Apodiakos and a sister- Lamona Sfakianos.
