Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Rhome Funeral Home Inc., 1209 Grand Blvd. Monessen, where friends will be welcomed on  Sunday, July 10, 2022, from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm and 6-8 pm. Services will be held at St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church of Monessen on Monday  July 11, 2022 with Fr. Stephen Wahal officiating.Interment will follow in the St. Mary's Cemetery in Rostraver Twp.

John T.  Golomb Jr., 95 years old of Monessen, passed away on Thursday July 7, 2022 in his home, of which he built from scratch with the help of his father, father in law, and many friends.He was born  in Monessen,on January 1, 1927, a son of the late John and Pauline Choban GolombIn 1944 he joined the US Navy and was sent to the Pacific Theater where he worked on Saipan and Tinian as an electrician who worked on the Naval Aircraft fleet.John was a member of St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church of Monessen and the Holy Name Society. He had volunteered at the former Meals On Wheels Program with his late wife Angela.He had been a teacher at Ellsworth Schools, and then, Chartiers Valley School District, where he had retired in 1993 after 35 years of passing on knowledge to the younger generations.  He took his love of education and continued to pass on his knowledge by instructing students in the St. Mary's CCD Programs.Preceding him in death were his late wife of 67 years- Angela Vingas Golomb.  Surviving are- Son- John F. Golomb of Monessen, Son- Charles Golomb and wife Lesley Sprigg of Matthews NC, Daughter- Cynthia Golomb and husband Gilbert Escauriza of Bal Harbour FL, Daughter- Susan Golomb of Uniontown, and Son- Jerome Golomb of Miami Fl.Six grandchildren- Kristin, Joshua, Shannon, Natalie, Jocelyn, and Noelle.  Nine great grandchildren, and a brother in law- Ernie Vingas.
