Larry "Uncle Larry" Kovalitski

Services will be held on September 11, 2021 at Rhome Funeral Home in Monessen, Pa at 10 am.  In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made on behalf of Uncle Larry to one of his many charities he supported throughout his life – the Wounded Warrior Project. Uncle Larry will be laid to rest next to his and Papa Archie’s beloved mother, Loretta (Dolan) Kovalitsky, at the Saint Hyacinth Cemetary in Monessen, Pa.

 

Larry Kovalitski “Uncle Larry” was born on August 24, 1947 to Loretta (Dolan) and Tony Kovalitski.  He passed away peacefully on August 17, 2021 after having celebrated early his 74th birthday with his beloved friend, Mary Packer, a bouquet of balloons he adored, a vanilla birthday cupcake he waited to eat, and cards from his family surrounding him. Uncle Larry always had a smile on his face and loved visiting his family.  He loved good conversation, good food, and just being around those that he loved. 

Uncle Larry served in the United States Air Force for four years in the Computer Operations Department and then went on to have a career as the Operation Supervisor in the Data Center at Lock Haven University where he was well respected and liked by everyone. He was an avid reader and had an extensive library of the literary greats and enjoyed sharing his vast knowledge on so many subjects. 
 

He is survived by his brothers Marvin “Archie” Dolan and his wife Donna, Ed Buck, Robert Buck; nieces Michelle Rae Fino,  Rosalind King, cousins Kathy Leone Warfield, Janet Leone Hoade, and Patty Zimmaro, Michelle Buck Warnock, Amy Lynn Buck Tringali; nephews Brandon King, John Miller, Roger Allen Buck, Bobby Buck, Michael Buck, Joey Buck; cousins Marcy & Hozz Yuhasz.  He is preceded in death by his mother Loretta (Dolan) Kovalitsky, father Tony Kovalitsky, step-mom Lottie Kovalitski and brother Roger Buck.
