Obituary:
Marie Valko, who celebrated her 103rd Birthday on August 22, 2012 passed away Saturday, October 6, 2012 in Residencece At Hilltop, Carroll Twp where she had resided since 1999. She was born September 22, 1909 in Wick Haven PA, and raised in Monessen, a
daughter of the late John and Theodosia "Daisy" Tranovich Holad. Mrs. Valko had worked as a decorator for Corning Glass in Charleroi prior to her retirement. Surviving are her son-Bob and wife Kay Valko of Kingsville, MD, Grandson-Rob Valko of Berlin, MD, Great grandson-Nicholas Lockard of Sherrelle Ford, NC, Sisters-Helen Kerr of Pittsburgh, and Mildred Voelker of Savannah, GA. Several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Valko and her sisters- Alice Hawley, Julia Young, and Anne Bell. and a brother- Mike Holad.
