Mary Jane Rose, 81, of Belle Vernon, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, September 11, 2024. A cherished wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, Mary Jane was known for her warmth, kindness, sense of humor and love for those around her.
Born in Monessen, she was the daughter of the late George and Mary Liscik. She is survived by her devoted husband of nearly 58 years, James A. Rose Sr., and her two sons: James A. Rose Jr. (Eric Gutierrez) of Seattle, WA, and Jeffrey Rose (Brianna) of North Charleroi. She is also survived by her beloved sisters LaVerne Taylor (Mark) of Gainesville, GA, Evelyn Pivarnik (Edward) of Pittsburgh, PA and Laurie Suchko (Paul) of Venetia, PA.
A 1961 graduate of Monessen High School, Mary Jane was a bright light in the lives of all who knew her. She was always quick with a smile or a compliment. Her easygoing nature was treasured by her family and close circle of friends. She was always there to share a good laugh and spend time together surrounded by the blooming flowerpots on her porch. Many joyful hours were spent outdoors, peacefully relaxing as she watched deer wander through her yard. Blessed with a green thumb, she enjoyed gardening at home, finding peace and beauty in nature. A casino enthusiast, Mary Jane enjoyed her trips to find the perfect slot machine, always savoring the excitement and fun.
One of her greatest joys in life came from her role as a grandmother. Her four grandchildren, Isaac, Emma, Liam, and Caleb, were truly the lights of her later years, and she relished every moment spent with them playing games, doing art projects and managing snacks.
