Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Rhome Funeral Home Inc., 1209 Grand Blvd. Monessen, where friends will be welcomed from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday. A Blessing Service will be held in the funeral home on Thursday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at the Epiphany of Our Lord Church of Monessen with Fr. Michael Crookston officiating. Entombment will follow at the Grandview Cemetery Mausoleum of Monessen.
Obituary:
Richard R. "Dick" Egidi, 94 of Monessen, , passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 22, 2018 at his home, surrounded by his family. Dick was born in Monessen, a son of the late Marco and Ida Leonetti Egidi . Dick graduated Monessen High School with the class of 1943. He was Catholic by faith and a member of the Epiphany of Our Lord Church of Monessen. He was also a member of the Monessen Elks, K of C, and Lions Club, where he was a former Past President. He was also an avid fan to all sports. Dick was a hard working, family man, that adored his grandsons.Dick was a Bricklayer by trade, and a member of the Bricklayer's Union. He had been in partnership as co-owner of S.E.T. Construction, and had been the President of Dan-Rich Corporation. Dick was very accomplished in his trade, and had worked overseeing innumerous large construction projects in the area. Dick had worked for over 30 years for the Dick Corporation, and had been a Supervisor at the time of his retirement. His "Crown Jewel" was the assignment of Project Manager of the current Monessen High School. He was very honored to construct his former Alma Mater's new home.Dick was an extremely proud Veteran of the United States Army Air Corp., having served as a Flight Engineer in WWII. He saw action in numerous other country's during his campaigns. Surviving are his wife- Theresa Cicci Egidi, with whom he would have celebrated sixty six years of marriage to in September. Sons- Ronald Egidi, and Robert Egidi, his Daughter, Tressa and husband Sheik Shannon, Grandsons- Gino Egidi, and Brock and Brennen Shannon. Brother, Armand and wife Gilda Egidi, Sister, Clara Ritacco, and Brother- Marco and Arlene Egidi. Numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his special friend, and former secretary- Nancy Baker Vranick. Three sisters in law- Isabelle Egidi, Sylvia Egidi, and Josephine Repovz. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother- Victor Egidi, his twin brother- Morgan Egidi and his beloved granddaughter- Taylor Morgan Egidi
