Funeral arrangements entrusted to the Rhome Funeral Home Inc., family owned and operated, 1209 Grand Blvd. Monessen, where friends will be welcomed on Thursday from 1-3 and 6-8. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Friday at 10:00 a.m. with Fr. Michael Crookston officiating.
Obituary:
Ronald F. Chiaravalle, 70, left us suddenly on Monday May 28, 2018 at Monongahela
Valley Hospital. Born on August 1st, 1947 to the late Tony and Frances Chiaravalle.He was a 1965 graduate of Monessen High School. Following high school, he proudly served our country in the US Navy and was stationed on the USS Lawrence out of Norfolk, VA during the Vietnam Conflict. He worked for US Steel Clairton Works for 12 years, Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel Rail Mill, South Hills Village and as an inspector for the PUC. He also worked for 17 years with EquiTrans and retired from Columbia Gas as a Supervisor in 2013. During his time in the Gas Industry, he participated in the Gas Measurement Short Course at Robert Morris University. During his lifetime, he had several businesses including Chiaravalle’s HVAC and Chiaravalle’s Pizza which he ran with his wife and family.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, BPOE Elks, and the American Legion.
He served two terms on the Monessen School Board and was into his third year on the Monessen City Council during which time he did great things for the city he loved.
He is survived by Marcia (Perry) his loving wife of 52 years. His daughters Dawn (Vincent) Isabella, Tina O’Dell, Nicole (Scott) Holmes, son Ronald Chiaravalle, Jr. and Surrogate “Son” Shawn Perry.
He had 10 grandchildren, Chris, Michael (Lisa), Justin Isabella, Mason and Aiden O’Dell, Tyra, SheyAnne and Madisan Holmes. Alaina and Ronnie III Chiaravalle. His brother Joe (Lorraine) Chiaravalle, sister Emily Zboyovsky, three sisters-in-law Doris Chiaravalle, Narcisa Chiaravalle, and Rosy Perry. A brother-in-law James (Michelle) Perry and a village of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his mother and father-in-law, Elizabeth and Merle Perry. Two brothers Bernard and Anthony Chiaravalle. Two brothers-in-law, Merle (Bub) Perry and Edward Zboyovsky.
He loved being with his family, gardening and enjoying nature. He was a “jack of all trades” and mentor to many. Birthday parties were a blast with Ron leading the song making sure it was happy, with perfect tone and pitch. He will be missed today, forever and always.
