Viewing: Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Rhome Funeral Home Inc., 1209 Grand Blvd. Monessen, where friends will be welcomed from 2-4 and 6-8, Tuesday, June 6.
Services:Funeral Services will be held at First Christian Church of Monessen, Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Conrad Auel officiating. Interment will follow in the Belle Vernon Cemetery.
Obituary:
Ruth Richwine, 96, of Monessen, passed away June 2, 2017 in her home. She was born July 30, 1920 in Monessen a daughter of the late Guy J. and Clemmie Stevenson Braddock.
She was born July 30, 1920 in Monessen a daughter of the late Guy J. and Clemmie Stevenson Braddock. She was a lifelong member of The First Christian Church of Monessen, where she had served as Choir Director and Organist from the time she was 18 years old until her retirement. She continued playing the piano for Sunday School until a few weeks before her death. Ruth had served as a Sunday School Teacher and Church Deaconess. She was an active member of the Church Newsletter Committee and was often first in the kitchen to prepare the "Chicken and Biscuit Dinner." Ruth was known for sending Birthday and Greeting Cards to those she cared about, which was many. She had also been a member of the Civil Air Patrol during WWII. After High School Ruth attended Douglas Business College, and with a Scholarship she then attended Business School in Pittsburgh. She worked as the Office Manager for Prudential of Belle Vernon for over 40 years.
Surviving are her daughter- Diane Richwine Swanson, Son In Law-David Swanson, Niece-Ferne Markatan, Nephews- Guy Purks, Bill Crise, Tom Crise, and Alan Crise and their families.
She was preceded in death by Sisters- Ferne Purks and Jean Crise.
