Due to COVID 19 all guests are to wear a mask and practice social distancing with a capacity of 25 people in the funeral home at a time.

Sarah Josephine Newman Lariccia of Monessen passed away on December 10, 2020, of complications from COVID-19. She lived a long, blessed, and happy life of 96 years. Sarah is predeceased by her husband Joe, and her three brothers Paul, David and Glenn.

She leaves behind her daughters and sons-in-law, Carol and Jim Britton of Belle Vernon, and Valerie and Bob Swann of Monessen. Sarah also leaves behind three granddaughters, Erin Britton of Pittsburgh, Lesley Britton of Pittsburgh, and Carly (Eujone) Kim of The Woodlands, Texas, as well as four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Sarah graduated from Monessen High School in 1942, where she met her future husband Joe in the Glee Club. After high school, Sarah was trained and served as a nanny in the Oakland neighborhood of Pittsburgh, while Joe served in the Army during World War II. They were married in 1946 after his return. With Sarah’s help and patience, Joe built the house on Overhill Drive where they raised their family.

Sarah was a dedicated Methodist and a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church of Monessen.
