Date of Death: July 30, 2013
Viewing: Visitation will be held from 1-3 and 6-8, Friday, August 2 at the at the Rhome Funeral Home, Inc.,1209 Grand Blvd. Monessen. The American Legion Post #28 will conduct services at 6:30pm and the Mon Valley Leathernecks will conduct services at 7pm in the Funeral Home on Friday evening.
Service: Services will be held in the chapel of the funeral home on Saturday, August 3, 2013 at 11:00 am with Fr. Michael Crookston officiating.
Interment: Interment will follow in the Monongahela Cemetery.

Steve G. Thomas, 92, of Belle Vernon, passed away, Tuesday, July 30, 2013 in Golden Living Center, Murrysville.
He was born October 23, 1920 in Charleroi, Son of the late George & Katherine Buckovac Thomas.
He was a member of the Epiphany of Our Lord Church, Monessen, Mon Valley Leathernecks, where he was active with "Toys for Tots", American Legion Post #28 of Monessen, CFU's #194 of Monessen, #394 of Cokeburg, active member of St. Vincent Development Club.
A World War II Marine Veteran, Mr. Thomas was the recipient of the Purple Heart. He was a swimming instructor for the Core in Newfoundland.
Surviving are his son and daughter in law; Steve & Nancy Thomas of Greensburg, grandchildren; Dana Thomas Gray & husband Chris, Greg Thomas & wife Holy, greatgrandchildren; Jacob & Colby Thomas, Cooper & Lena Gray, and numerous nieces & nephews
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Wilma D. Beck Thomas and a brother, Frank Thomas .
