Viewing: Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Rhome Funeral Home Inc., family owned and operated as a member of the Golden Rule, 1209 Grand Blvd. Monessen where friends will be welcomed from 2-4 and 6-8 on Monday, June 23, 2014.
Service: Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 with a prayer service in the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. followed by funeral services at 10:00 a.m. in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Monessen.
Internment will follow in the Belle Vernon Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in Mr. Boyer’s memory to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Monessen, Pa.
Obituary:
Thomas F. Boyer of Monessen peacefully completed his journey home on June 20, 2014 at the age of 86 with his family at his side. Born in Belle Vernon on January 22, 1928, he was the son of the late Thomas and Margaret Feehan Boyer.
Tom retired from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel Co. as Superintendent of Utilities, Monessen Plant in December 1988. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and member of The National Management Association. A dedicated member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Monessen, Tom served as an usher and member of church council. He was a deeply spiritual, thoughtful man who will be remembered for his story telling and love for his family.
Tom was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. In addition to his parents, Tom is preceded in death by the love of his life Betty J. “Toots” Boyer, his beloved son Thomas E. Boyer and sister Louise Bennett. Left to cherish his memory are his loving daughter Karen (Thomas) Cullen of Elizabeth Township and daughter-in-law Kathleen Boyer of Washington. Proud grandfather “Pap Pap” of Jennifer (Aaron) Tullio of Cannonsburg, Nicole (Robb) Barr of North Huntingdon Township and Allyson (Matt) Graham of Ross Township. Dear great grandfather “Pap” of Luca and Casey Tullio and Aiden, Ashton and Ava Barr. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
