Viewing/Services: Visitation will be held in the Rhome Funeral Home Inc. 1209 Grand Blvd. Monessen on Friday from 10am to 12pm, the time of the service, with Rev. Kenneth Jones officiating.
Contributions can be made to the Monessen United Methodist Church.
Interment: Interment will follow in Monongahela Cemetery.
Obituary:
Vivian Smith Roberts, 92, of Zanesville Oh, formerly of Monessen, passed away June 24, 2014 in Cedar Hill Care Center, Zanesville OH. Born in Monessen, she was the daughter of the late A. Frank and Hannah Boddice Smith.
Vivian received her RN from Columbia Hospital School of Nursing in 1942 and worked at several Mon Valley Hospitals and with Spring Church Chapter of United Cerebral Palsy. She married Harry M. Roberts in 1942 in New Orleans, LA. Harry preceded her in death in 1995. She was active in the Monessen United Methodist Church.
Vivian is survived by one son Terry (Cindy) Roberts of Bridgeville, two daughters Rayma Kerns of Zanesville OH, and Trudy (Howard) Greenfield of Grove City, daughter in law Marge Roberts of Wyomissing, PA, eight grandchildren, two great granddaughters, and three nieces and four nephews.
She was preceded in death in addition to her parents and husband Harry, a son Kenneth Roberts, son in law Ted Kerns, and a brother Frank Smith.
Vivian had lived at Cedar Hill Care Center in Zanesville in recent years.
