Viewing/Service: Funeral arrangements are being handled by Rhome Funeral Home, Inc., 1209 Grand Blvd., Monessen, PA. Viewing will be 3 pm to 8 pm Wednesday November 15 at the funeral home. Additional viewing will be 11 am until 11:30 am, the time of service, Thursday November 16, at the First Christian Church, 115 6th Street, Monessen, PA.

Interment with military honors will be in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies in Bridgeville PA.

Obituary:

Addison ‘Byron’ Clingerman, age 69, went home to be with the Lord November 7, 2017 after being involved in a fatal automobile crash. He is the son of the late Addison and Jean (Baker) Clingerman. Byron was born October 7, 1948. He graduated from Rostraver High School in 1966 and enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He served during the Vietnam War on the USS Forrestal aircraft carrier working in the sheet metal shop and was a plane captain. He then attended Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics (PIA) gaining an A&P license and worked in general aviation before joining the Pennsylvania Air National Guard (PAANG) 171st Air Refueling Wing. He served in both Desert Shield and Desert Storm and retired from PAANG in 1995.
He then became sole proprietor of AeroLab LLC. Byron was a highly knowledgeable and skilled aerospace industry Level III, nondestructive testing auditor, inspector, and instructor both domestically and internationally. He volunteered his expertise globally for Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF) and founded the MAF Center for NDE. His passion was building relationships with people, and sharing stories of his experiences. His skill and precision were woven into everything he did, from gunsmithing to inspections and shown in his dedication to Christian service with numerous mission organizations and as a lifelong member of the First Christian Church of Monessen.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years Virginia ‘Ginger’ (James) Clingerman and their son and daughter-in-law Byron J and Kristen Clingerman, and granddaughters, Brynn and Kassie; brother and sister-in-law, Lonnie B. and Ellie Clingerman of Buffalo, Wyoming plus nieces and nephews and cousins.
