Viewing: Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Rhome Funeral home Inc., family owned and operated as a member of the Golden Rule, 1209 Grand Blvd. Monessen, where friends will be welcomed from 3-7-p.m., Sunday, October 6

Service: Funeral Services will be held at St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church of Monessen on Monday October 7, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. with Fr. Stephen Wahal officiating.

A Parish Rosary followed by a Parastas Service will take place on Sunday evening at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.

Interment: Interment will follow in the St. Mary's Cemetery, Rostraver Twp.

Obituary:

Ann Capco Johnson, 89 of Monessen, passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2013 in Mt. Macrina Manor, Uniontown..

She was born February 24, 1924 in Monessen, a daughter of the late George and Sophia Sedor Capco.

She was a lifelong and active member of St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church of Monessen. She was active in religous education, teachin for many years at St. Mary's parish. She helped develop educational materials and produced and presented workshops for the Diocesan Council of Catholic Women, among others; and continued her religious studies through adult classes held by the Byzantine Catholic Seminary in Pittsburgh and other outlets. She was a regular volunteer with the Sisters of St. Basil the Great in Uniontown and for more than four decades work in the monastery's religious gift shop during the September Otpust (Pilgrimage)

 

Surviving are her son-Very Reverend Kenneth George Johnson and his wife Matushka Faith D. Johnson, A daughter Candice M. Johnson, and her husband Kevin Foley, Grandchildren- Benjamin and Marina Johnson, A brother- Michael Capco, and many loved Nieces and Nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George E. Johnson and her sisters- Mary Sylvania and Sue Shuma. Brother- George Capco. Sisters in law- Helen Capco and Cleo Capco. Brothers in law- Paul Shuma and Philip Sylvania
