Viewing/Services:

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Rhome Funeral Home Inc., 1209 Grand Blvd. Monessen, where friends will be welcomed on Wednesday from 1-3 and 6-8 pm.

A Blessing Service will be held in the funeral home on Thursday at 9:30 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at the Epiphany of Our Lord Church of Monessen with Fr. Michael Crookston officiating.

 


 

 

Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery of Monessen

 

 

 

 


Obituary:

Demetri Minniti, 79, of Monessen passed away unexpectedly on Monday, November 12, 2018 in Mon Valley Hospital, Carroll Twp.

Demetri was born in Monessen on February 28, 1939, a son of the late Pietro and Anna Minniti.  He was a life long resident of Monessen and a member of the Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church.

Demetri wa a retired crane operator, having worked at the former Allenport Plant of Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel Corp. and was a life member of the Monessen Elks Lodge #773

In addition to his parents, Demetri was preceded in death by his loving wife, Gerry Minniti and a son- Shaun Minniti.  Brothers- John, Joe, and Pete Minniti, Sister in law- Patsy Keffel.

Demetri enjoyed following the sports teams of the "City of Champions"- Steelers, Penquins, and Pirates,  In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening, hunting, and tinkering in his garage.  His grandchildren always Pap could fix it, no matter what it wa.  Demetri's love of cars never waned, he enjoyed going to car shows and collected them as well.

He enjoyed attending luncheons with his extended family, and always enjoyed attending and supporting his grandchildren at their sporting events and school activities,  The highlight of his week was enjoying a traditional Italian pasta dinner each Sunday with his family.  

Surviving are his daughter- Kelly and husband James Sepesky Jr. of Monessen.  Son Jason and wife Stacy Minniti of Rostraver Twp.Grandchildren- Julian and Kolby Sepesky and Aiden, Jude, and Arden Minniti.  Sister- Minnie Sala, Brother- Richard and wife Renee Minniti, Brother in law- Robert Keffel, Sisters in law- Connie Minniti and Mary Minniti.  Numerous nieces and nephews, and his African Grey Parrot- "Simon"
