Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Rhome Funeral Home Inc., 1209 Grand Blvd Monessen, where friends will be welcomed from 1-3 & 6-8 pm on Wednesday. 

 

Funeral services will begin at 9:30 in the funeral home with a Panachida Service followed by Divine Liturgy at 10 am at St Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church with Fr Stephen Wahal officiating. Burial will follow at St Mary’s Cemetery, Rostraver Twp.  

 


Obituary:

Edison Skippy Macosta, 87, of North Charleroi passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family on April 20, 2019. 

He was born on October 18, 1931 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, a son of the late Frank Fagnelli & Mary Macosta 

Skip proudly served his country in the Korean War, earning 3 bronze stars. On Christmas Eve, 1957 he married the love of his life, Janet Elaine Macosta, who survives. 
He was a retired union laborer. 

Skip was a member of St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church, Monessen, PA. He was also a member of the Frank Ricco Son’s Italy, Brownsville, Pa, Italian American Society in Monessen & Italian Heritage.  

Surviving are two sons, Scott (Lara) of Daisytown & Mark (Joanne) Macosta of Marianna & 3 grandchildren, Nickolai, Malaina & Carlo. 
-also surviving is a brother, Harold “Sonny” Kotchig & brother-in-law, Esio Bertoncini. 

Deceased is a granddaughter, Felicity Elaine Macosta and sisters,  Carmella Bertoncini & Phylis Smith.
