Private funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Rhome Funeral Home Inc., 1209 Grand Blvd. Monessen.  Interment was in the Grandview Cemetery of Monessen.

Obituary:

Eleanor Jean (Gombos) Lauteri, age 88, passed away on May 12, 2020.

She was born in Monessen on December 22, 1931, a daughter of the late John and Suzanne Hritz Gombos.  

She had been married to the late Frank Lauteri for 58 years, prior to his passing in 2009.

Eleanor was a lifelong member of St. John the Divine Russian Orthodox Church of Monessen, and had served as the President of the Parish Council, was a member of the Ladies Alter Guild, and the Church Choir.  She had also volunteered with "Meals on Wheels" and Children's Hospital.  

Earlier in her life, she had worked at "Alberts Market", "Sheppental's" and Kroger's.

Surviving are two sons- James and wife Kathleen Lauteri and John and wife Rita Lauteri.  Four grandchildren- Kristen (Omar) Khan, David (Melissa) Lauteri, Frank (Amanda) Lauteri, and Salvatore Lauteri.  Great granddaughters- Sophia, Hannah, and Alina.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her five sisters, and three brothers- Mary Van Glahn, Margaret Kelemen, Anne Laskey, Betty Gombos, Irene Biszaha, John Gombos, Robert Gombos, and Harry Gombos.
