Obituary:

Fred L. Fal Sr., 91 of Monessen, passed away on November 15, 2016 in his home. He was born May 30, 1925 in Monessen a son of the late Michael and Bertha Pudkin Fal.

He was Catholic by faith and a member of the former St. Hyacinth Church of Monessen where he had served as an Altar Boy in his youth. Fred had alsobeen a member of the former Polish Club of Monessen and had enjoyed bowling in several leagues at Lynwood Lanes. Fred also enjoyed horse racing. Growing up in Monessen, he was part of the "3rd Street Gang". He had attended Monessen High School. Fred honorably served his country in the United States Army during WWII. During the China-Burma-India Theater, he was a
Medical Aidman, and attended to those wounded on the front lines, and was responsible for casualties to be transported to evacuation hospitals. He worked on the Pickle Line for Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, Allenport Plant until his retirement in 1983.

Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Doris A. Bonadio Fal, three daughters-Joanne Joseph of Belle Vernon, Laurette and husband Don Legg, of Delaware, and Lou Ann and husband Lenny Kurowsky,of Monessen. Daughter in law- Diane Fal, Grandchildren- Jerry Destefano, Cassie Destefano, Chelsey Fal, Camrynn Fal, and Donnie Legg. Great grandchildren-Giovannie, Tamir,Tai'lyn, and Frankie Bella.

He was preceded in death by his Son- Fred Fal Jr., Grandchildren- Camren M. Fal and Angeline Destefano, Son In Law- Jon Joseph, brother- Edward Fal, and a sister- Frances Sabolek. .
