Viewing/Services: As per "Jiggs" wishes, private funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Rhome Funeral Home Inc., family owned and operated as a member of the Golden Rule, 1209 Grand Blvd. Monessen.

Memorial contributions in "Jiggs" name may be made to the St. Jude
Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place. Memphis TN, 38105.

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Dr. Earle and staff ath UPMC Cancer Center, as well as Cindy Adams of Allegheny Health Network Hospice Care for the outstanding care and compassion they provided to "Jiggs."

 

 

Obituary:

George "Jiggs" Voytish, 80 passed away peacefully, on Monday, May 2, 2016 at his home in Monessen. He was born Saturday, July 6, 1935 in Gibson, PA, a Son of the late Michael and Anna Mattey Voytish. "Jiggs" grew up in Van Vooris, and had graduated from Charleroi High School.

A Laborer by trade and a member of the Laborers Local 373, he retired in 1996 from the Cost Company of Forrest Hills after 31 years of employment. In his spare time, "Jiggs" enjoyed wood working and spending time with his grandchildren.

Surviving are his wife, Catherine "Kit" Symons Voytish with whom he would have celebrated 52 years of marriage with on August 14th. "Jiggs" is also survived by his Daughters- Kim Rupert and Rebecca and husband Frank Rizzuto, of Monessen. His Son- Matthew and wife Stacey Voytish, of North Huntingdon, Grandchildren- Katie, Bella, Colin, and Gavin, Brother- Tom Voytish of Delaware Ohio and a Sister- , Dorothy Burkhart, of Elizabeth. Also, numerous Nieces and Nephews, additional relatives, and friends

He was preceded in death by Brothers- Michael, Joseph, John, and Paul Voytish and Sisters- Mary, Margaret, Barbara, Elizabeth, and Anna.
