Viewing/Services:

Illinois visitation will be held on Tuesday July 31 from 4-8 pm at Gary United Methodist Church, 224 Main Street, Wheaton, IL   Arrangements are being made by Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main Street,Wheaton, IL

Pennsylvania visitation will be held on Friday, August 3 from 4-8 at the Rhome Funeral Home, 1209 Grand Blvd., Monessen, PA.  Funeral service will held on Saturday, August 4 at 10 am at the Rhome Funeral home and officiated by Reverend Beth Nelson of Salem United Methodist Church.  Burial will follow at the Belle Vernon Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the music program of Gary United Methodist Church, 224 Main Street, Wheaton, IL

 

 

 

 


Obituary:

Mary Louise Hornack Lewis, 99, formerly of Belle Vernon, PA died at her Brookdale Glen Ellyn home on July 21.  Born on September 26, 1918 in Monessen, PA to Joseph and Anna Maksin, she was the seventh of ten children.  She graduated from Monessen High School in 1936.  Mary Louise married John P. Lewis on June 29, 1940.  They raised their family in Belle Vernon and lived in their home on Route 201 until she moved to Warrenville, Il in 1992.  Mary Louise was a devoted wife and mother, passionate homemaker, cook and seamstress.  She was a member of the Monessen Order of Eastern Star.
 She is survived by her daughters: Kathleen Schaum (Karl) of Lake Worth, FL and Mary Ellen Kolbe (Robert) of Wheaton, IL.  Mary Louise was so proud of her grandchildren:  Timothy Schaum of Wellington, FL, Tamara Gasior of Naperville, IL, Ryan Kolbe of Lombard, IL and Rhett Kolbe of Charlotte, NC.  She loved visits from her great granddaughters Kaley and Alina Gasior.  In addition to her parents and husband, Mary Louse was preceded in death by her siblings Joseph, John, Michael, Andrews, Stephen and Robert Hornack, Anna Krusec, Elizabeth Keznor and Margaret Komar.
