Viewing/Services: Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Rhome Funeral Home Inc., family owned and operated as a member of the Golden Rule, 1209 Grand Blvd. Monessen, where friends will be welcomed from 9-11 a.m., the time of services, Saturday, April 13.

Interment: Interment will follow in the Grandview Cemetery, Monessen, PA 15062.

Contributions may be made to either St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Monessen or the Monessen Public Library.

 

Obituary:

Paul G. Hansen, 94 years old of Monessen, PA, died Thursday, April 4, 2013 in Uniontown Hospital. He was born April 13, 1918 in Monessen, a, son of the late Harry and the late Ellen Nielsen Hansen. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Monessen where he had served as a Sunday School Teacher as well as on the Church Council. Mr. Hansen was also a charter member of the Lynwood Lutheran Church. He was a member of the American Legion Post # 28 of Monessen and the Monessen Elks#773. An Army veteran of WWII, Mr. Hansen was a member of the 10th Armored
Division and had served in France and Germany in personell. A devoted family man, Mr. Hansen enjoyed Gardening, Bowling, Golf, Reading, and Photography. He had worked as a Production Planner for Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, Allenport Plant prior to his retirement. Surviving are his daughter- Ellen Lear of Monessen. Granddaughter- Julia L. Lear of Jacksonville FL, a brother- Richard and wife Ann Hansen of Charleroi, and a sister- Vivian Docis of Newport Beach, CA. Several nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jane Turney Hansen and Daughter-Paula J. Hansen. Brothers- Harry, Howard, and Alfred Hansen. Sisters-Margaret Fagen, and Inger and Lillian Hansen.
