Obituary

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Rhome Funeral Home, 1209 Grand Blvd., Monessen, where friends will be welcomed on Sunday March 2 2025 from 3:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at St. Spryridon Greek Orthodox Chuch of Monessen, March 3, 2025 at 11:00am with Fr. Meletios Gianniodis officiating.

Intment will follow in the Nation Cemetary of The Alleghenies, Bridgeville.

A Trisagion Service will be held in the funeral home on Sunday evening at 7:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Church of Monessen.

Peggy Chan, 81, of Greensburg, formerly of Monessen passed away on Wednesday February 26, 2025.

She was born on August 23, 1943 in Charleroi, a daughter of the late Joan Kougioulis Vassilakis and Steve Vassilakis.

Peggy was a member of St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Church of Monessen. She was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

She worked as a adminstrative assistant for SPHS prior to her retirment.

Surviving are her sons-Robert and Jonas Chan. Siswters- Denise and husband Wayne Douglas and George Vassilakis. Sister in law-Leonie Chan. Several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Robert Chan.
