Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Rhome Funeral Home Inc., 1209 Grand Blvd. Monessen, where friends will be welcomed on Sunday, June 17, 2018 from 1-3 and 6-8 p.m.A Blessing Service will be held in the funeral home on Monday June 18, 2018 at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Sebastian Church of Belle Vernon, with Fr. Frank Gan officiating.  

Internment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Carroll Twp.The Imburgia Family will be forming the "Robert A. Imburgia Memorial Scholarship" at Monessen High School, and ask that contibutions be made to the scholarship in lieu of flowers.

Obituary:

Robert A. Imburgia, 72 of Belle Vernon, passed away on June 14, 2018 in Mon Valley Hospital, Carroll Twp . He was born  in Charleroi, April 17, 1946, a son of the late Charles and Marie Yannitto Imburgia . Bob worked  for City of Monessen School District for 35 years, Teaching in the Mathematics Department .  He was also an Adjunct Professor at Westmoreland County Community College and the University of Pittsburgh. He was a member of St. Sebastian Church of Belle Vernon. An avid outdoorsman, Bob was a member of the Charleroi Fishing Club, and Multiple Gun Clubs. Surviving are his Daughter- Renee and husband Douglas Opalko, of Monessen, Son- Matthew Imburgia,of Bentleyville, His pride and joy-Grandson, Dominic Opalko. Brother- Francis and wife Gerri Imburgia, of Berlin Center, Ohio and  Sister- Natalie and husband Ron Penwell, of Martinsburg WV. Numerous Aunts and Cousins, and  Friend and Caregiver Rosemary.  Bob has left a huge impact on innumerous former colleagues and students.  He will be greatly missed by many.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife- Susan Washchyshak Imburgia on September 21, 2016.
